Off Grid

An Equinox Energy battery based off-grid electrical system can supply all the power you need.

Ideal in remote situations or where the cost of connection to the electricity grid is prohibitive an independent renewable energy system can provide a clean, reliable and cost effective solution.

Our renewable energy off-grid systems can be powered by photovoltaics, wind turbines or a combination of the two. The energy generated is stored in a battery bank. An inverter supplies grid quality 230 volt AC power.

Our systems can replace all or some of the output from your existing fossil fuel generator. In a new build situation a much smaller generator can be incorporated as back up to charge the battery bank on occasions when the days are short or very dark and / or there is little or no wind.  

The first step in our design process is for us to visit the proposed site in order to carry out a feasibility study and to work with you to calculate your expected electrical loads. We charge £350 + VAT for this visit and the associated design work within 75 miles of our base. We refund the whole amount against a subsequent order.

Our recent installations, both for the National Trust, include a Sunny Island PV / wind system on Brownsea Island and the provision of PV power for the water features in the Japanese Garden at Kingston Lacy.
