As a Government (MCS) accredited renewable energy installation company we provide technical innovation and engineering excellence. We promise to do our best to do what we say we’ll do when we say we’ll do it. We endeavour to deliver as we have quoted and on schedule. Put simply, we want to be the best company in our industry. To achieve our aim we know that we must value each of our customers very highly. We are also approved by the Local Authority Trading Standard's 'Buy With Confidence' Scheme (1).

We work hard to promote clean renewable energy technologies and we believe that they should be incorporated into every building. We strive to minimise the impact of our own operation on the environment. For instance; we minimise the need to travel, avoid where possible using materials that are hazardous to human health or the environment such as lead or PVC, and we minimise waste by incorporating reuse and recycling as part of our daily routines. For our main day to day banking we use an ethical bank www.coopbank.co.uk and we have our own, grid connected PV systems that provide electrical power for our office and workshop.

Equinox Energy was founded by Dave Hutchins and Carina Wildwood in January 2005. After training as an Automotive Engineer Dave worked for Ford Motor Company at their Southampton Transit Van assembly plant. Dave left Ford to work for Greenpeace in 1987 and became involved in the then fledgling photovoltaic industry in 2002. Carina has been working on PV installations since 2002 and has worked full time for Equinox Energy since 2006.

We are driven by our concern about human induced climate change, 99% of climatologists today agree that we must act now to avoid the otherwise predicted extreme events that could eventually make life on Earth impossible. Profits are not our prime motivation; day after day our genuine concern about climate change and the environment motivates us and drives our passion for our work.
